#BeforeYouAsk

Girl with sight loss, sat down at work looking uncomfortable next to her boss with text saying 'sight loss doesn't bother me at work, my cringey boss does'.

What is our #BeforeYouAsk campaign

The blind and partially sighted community are frequently being asked annoying questions which are loaded with misconceptions surrounding sight loss. Sometimes questions can be inappropriate, hurtful or just plain daft. So, we took this insight and asked blind and partially sighted people to answer those questions once and for all. We asked blind and partially sighted people to send us their frequently asked questions and how they typically answer them. This insight has informed our new campaign, #BeforeYouAsk.

Through the #BeforeYouAsk short films, posters and an interactive video chat, blind and partially sighted people will be banishing many misconceptions surrounding what it’s really like to live with sight loss in a fun and insightful way.

Listen to our #BeforeYouAsk radio ad

For our latest radio ad, we aimed to shed light on some of the common questions people with sight loss face everyday. We captured a range of questions, some sillier than others, all before the voice of someone with sight loss cuts through the noise with a simple and effective mic drop moment.

Our message is that it's okay for sighted people to be curious, but before you ask any potentially awkward questions have a try of our interactive video chat and learn more about living with sight loss.
