Employment for blind and partially sighted people in 2019

Sight loss should not impact someone's job prospects and yet, one of the biggest barriers to equal participation for blind and partially sighted people is issues faced around employment.

The aim of this research is to better understand the employment circumstances and experiences of registered blind and partially sighted people.

This included quantitative and qualitative research with blind and partially sighted people of working age. It also included research with employers; this element is important because inaccessible recruitment and employer attitudes were also identified as barriers in previous research.

The data behind this report was collected through telephone interviews, focus groups and a YouGov poll.
