Thousands of blind and partially sighted people remain #OutOfSight in the hidden scandal of vision rehabilitation

More than a quarter (26 per cent) of local authorities in England are leaving blind and partially sighted people waiting more than a year for a vision rehabilitation assessment; more are waiting several months for the support they’re legally entitled to.

Top turn out for tech event in NI for people affected by sight loss

Yesterday (Wednesday 28 February), the Europa Hotel in Belfast played host to RNIB’s Technology for Life Fair - the biggest showcase of assistive technology products for blind and partially sighted people in Northern Ireland. “She’s the Lewis Capaldi of the art world" - the young visually impaired artist transforming creativity

Hannah Evans (17) from Linlithgow, has been creating art since she was three years old and has three group exhibitions and three large solo shows under her belt. She is also partially sighted, autistic, and has specific learning and communication disabilities.

RNIB meets with Shadow Health Secretary Wes Streeting MP

RNIB staff, including Chief Social Change Officer Vivienne Francis, took Wes Streeting MP on a guided walk to demonstrate the barriers blind and partially sighted people face getting from A to B. Alongside this, Mr Streeting heard about our priorities for vision rehabilitation, eye health and accessible health information over a coffee in his remit as Shadow Health and Care Secretary.
