Warwickshire Vision Support
Warwickshire Vision Support provides both statutory rehabilitation services and charitable support services to blind and partially sighted people in Warwickshire. Their mission is to help people to build and maintain independence and control over their lives and to reduce the level of social isolation that they may experience. The Rehabilitation Service supports people who have recently lost their sight and require new skills for independent living or who may be experiencing life changes that necessitate additional support and training. To supplement this service, there is a wide variety of charitable community services. These services seek to improve the quality of life of members and ensure that they are best placed to access the latest information, the most modern equipment and perhaps most importantly, are able to develop a wider network of friends and contacts. Services offered: 11 x vision support centres throughout the county (Alcester, Atherstone, Bedworth, Coleshill, Kenilworth, Leamington Spa, Nuneaton, Rugby, Shipston, Southam, Stratford) 9 x Social clubs in Atherstone, Coleshill, Hillmorton (Rugby), Kenilworth, Leamington, Nuneaton, Rugby, Southam and Stratford Support and wellbeing Training and education Technology training / opportunity to try different mobile phones and tablets Every day living equipment demonstrations Supplier demonstrations Speakers from local organisations Befriending services Opportunity for peer support Connection to local talking news organisations.
