Tower Hamlets Sight and Hearing service
Provides specialist social care services to blind and partially sighted people in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. Services include:
- assessment of the needs of visually impaired people
- specialist social work/rehabilitation to referred visually impaired people including daily living skills training, mobility training, etc
- advocacy support and information regarding the range of services available to visually impaired people referred to the sensory impairment team
- loan of practical aids (talking watches, talking clocks, liquid level indicators, signature guides, symbol canes, guide canes, long canes and white walking sticks)
- low vision service, providing low vision assessments.
