The Accessible Friends Network (TAFN)

The Accessible Friends Network (TAFN) is a UK registered charity operating globally via the internet to provide support, training and leisure activities for blind and visually impaired people. TAFN operates almost entirely online and its members can participate in a number of lively and informative email lists as well as drawing on the many useful and entertaining resources held on its public and members only websites.

TAFN also has a chat server which allows members to talk to other people in real time from all around the world. TAFN uses this system to deliver a whole host of activities such as quizzes and word games, structured chat events, music based events in addition to a number of educational sessions including computer skills and creative writing classes. All you need to get started is a windows PC with a microphone or headset and a connection to the internet. Annual membership is £15.50 and a free 1 month trial is available.
