Sutton Vision
A local sight loss charity supporting and advocating on behalf of blind and partially sighted people living and working in the London Borough of Sutton. Their services are led and delivered by people with lived experience of visual impairment and are open to anyone over the age of 18 living with sight loss, their family and friends. Everyone’s sight loss journey is different and that’s why they provide a wide range of services to enable and empower people with sight loss to live full and independent lives. Services include: • information and advice, including an eye care liaison advisor • community outreach services (befriending, support with benefit applications) • a range of social groups and activities (Scrabble, quizzes, tech talk, arts and crafts) • Resource Centre for display, demonstration and advice on low vision equipment and technology. • Low Vision Clinic - these twice monthly clinic sessions offer assessment with an optometrist, completing low vision assessments to decide clients needs with support including low vision aids, including prescribed magnifiers and coping strategies for clients.
