St Vincent's School
St Vincent's School is a non-maintained day and residential school for pupils aged 4-19 years with a sensory impairment and other needs. Pupils enjoy full access to the National Curriculum and an extended curriculum. Pupils are taught in small class sizes alongside their peers, with a minimum of one Qualified Teacher of the Visually Impaired and one learning support assistant to a maximum of six pupils. The school's mobility officers provide individual mobility and orientation sessions to pupils.
Our aim is to enable every pupil to achieve their full potential and a level of effective communication, social competence and personal independence. To achieve this students receive an individually modified and appropriate approach to their learning. Challenge, enjoyment and personalisation are important principles for all our learners. Application for admission is generally made by the Local Authority. However, parents are most welcome to contact the school at any point.
