Southern Health and Social Care Trust Sensory Disability Services (Cherrytrees Resource Centre)

Provides specialist social care to blind and partially sighted people covering Craigavon, Banbridge, South Down & East of the Newry canal.

The team is made up of two fully-qualified rehabilitation workers and one access worker for visually impaired people as well as five social workers working with clients who have visual impairment, hearing loss or dual sensory loss. The access worker works with clients in the area covered by Jackson Hall as well as the area covered by Cherrytrees.

The rehabilitation workers provide a comprehensive service to visually impaired people. They also provide regular awareness training to groups, including Trust staff, voluntary organizations and others on request.

The social workers provide counselling and support services to children and adults under 65 yrs, and their families.
