Sight Loss Shropshire

SLS aims to improve the quality of life for blind and visually impaired people of every age in Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin. Its objectives include:
• to reduce social isolation for visually impaired people
• to enable visually impaired people to access equipment and services they cannot afford and are not available from statutory services, that will improve their independence
• to work in partnership with statutory, private and third sector organisations to support local visually impaired people
• to act as a local champion of visually impaired people by understanding the specific local issues faced by visually impaired people.
• to provide grants to assist visually impaired people to acquire specialist aids and equipment to facilitate greater independence;
• to support a network of local peer support groups that meet in every part of the area;
• to provide information and signposting about services and support for visually impaired people.
