Royal National College for the Blind (RNC)

RNC is the UK’s leading Further Education college for people who are 16 or over and blind or partially sighted.

RNC offers a wide range of A levels, BTEC and NVQ subjects, including additional training in Information Technology, Braille, mobility and independent living skills. RNC promotes the personal development of its students with an emphasis on personal responsibility and preparing its students for university, employment and independent living.

Classes are friendly and informal, class sizes at RNC are small and some work is done on a one-to-one basis when appropriate.

The College is based on a large residential campus in Hereford, consisting of a large student village, Arts Centre, visual recording suite, art room and theatre.

RNC also boasts its own sports centre, thePoint4 - home to local Paralympians and RNC’s Visually Impaired Sports Academy.
