Initial assessments take around an hour and allow you and the optometrist to have a discussion about the aspects of your life most affected by your low vision, and how the various visual aids they provide can help you.

They also lend a range of low vision aids on behalf of the NHS. Item include magnifiers, typoscopes, electronic magnifiers and reading stands.

Training demonstrations on how to use the equipment are also available at the Aberystwyth branch.
