Portsmouth City Council Sensory Impairment and Deaf Services team

Our aim is to help people regain or maintain their independence, quality of life and ability to participate as fully as they choose in community affairs and activities.

Our philosophy is one of early intervention, prevention and rehabilitation and we work in partnership with other areas of Portsmouth City Council and with other organisations, both statutory and voluntary, to develop services that are accessible and that meet the needs of potential service users.

The services we offer include:

- assessment by a specialist team member

- sensory impairment awareness training
