North Wales Society for the Blind

A charity supporting blind and partially sighted people in North Wales. the society aims to get services out to people living in rural areas by means of Open Days and obtain feedback via the Consumer Unit.

Services include:
- tape and braille transcription service
- daily living skills and mobility training
- benefits advice
- day centre/social club
- deafblind and multiple disability service
- eye clinic
- grants
- selfhelp/support service
- lending library
- welsh cassette service.

The service is centrally-based in a resource centre with up-to-date hi-tech equipment and a transcription service. A team of three Rehabilitation Officers based in each local Office of the Social Services Departments based in Anglesey, Bangor and Gwynedd.

The Society covers the following counties: Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire, Gwynedd, Ynys Mon (Isle of Anglesey), North Powys and Wrexham.
