National Star College - Lift Training (Derbyshire)

Lift Training Derbyshire is an award winning programme which provides free independent travel training for young people with disabilities and learning difficulties, as well as behavioural, emotional and social concerns. This enables them to develop skills and confidence to independently access education via a range of transport options.

It offers independent travel training to young people with disabilities aged between 13-25 years who wish to access education independently.

It also offers Lift Awareness, a training scheme which delivers travel safety messages through classroom sessions and group trips for those attending Special Educational Needs Schools. Lift Awareness covers topics including road safety, safe behaviour when travelling, problem solving and journey planning.
