Milton Mountaineers

Milton Mountaineers is a charity group founded in 1969 and is made up of blind and partially sighted walkers and sighted guides who meet in different parts of the UK. It is run by two volunteer trustees. They aim to organise at least one trip a year in either England, Wales, Scotland or Ireland.

They usually climb mountains or hills in the area but also try to offer lower level easier walks as well.

They are sometimes assisted by a local walking group or qualified mountain leader, or they booka trip with a company which provides walk leaders.

Membership is free, but participants pay for their own travel to the venue and for accommodation. The charity discounts the cost of trips by 5%.

Participants should be fit and active enough in order to walk for up to around 6 hours a day for 3 days or more in hilly and sometimes rough terrain.
