IPSEA (Independent Parental Special Education Advice)

IPSEA (Independent Parental Special Education Advice) is a charity that provides free legally based advice to families who have children with special educational needs.

All their advice is given by trained volunteers.
There are several helplines available,
You can find lots of guidance and information on the IPSEA website. (no enquiries by post, email or via the office).

1. The call-in Line (0300 222 5899) can help with problems with schools, requesting a statutory assessment, proposed statements, annual reviews, possible disability discrimination, exclusion from school, and more.

2. The Tribunal Helpline (appointment required) (0845 602 9579) provides more detailed help with SEN appeals and disability discrimination claims to the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal.

Both Helplines close during the second half of August.
