Institute of Ophthalmology

The main activity is postgraduate research into the visual process, diseases of the eye and the causes of blindness. This work advances the knowledge and skills of specialists in the eye field and thus furthers their capacity to combat blindness.

The institute has academic staff (both basic scientists and research clinicians), many of whom work closely with the Institute's research partner, Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Trust.
