Hounslow (Community ECLO Service)

Worried about your vision? We’re here for you:
Eye Care Liaison Officers (ECLOs) offer practical and emotional support to anyone affected by sight loss, including families and carers.
ECLOs are specially trained advisers who work with people of all ages affected by sight loss. They offer information, practical advice, and emotional support, and help people access the support available to them from a wide range of other organisations and services. An ECLO can help people understand the certification and registration process which can lead to further support and benefits.

They can advise you on:
• Eye conditions helping you to better understand your condition and treatment
• Welfare benefits you may be entitled to
• remaining in employment or re-training
• Technology support to help you do the things you want to do
• mental health and emotional wellbeing
• children's services and where to get help with difficulties at school
• Local support groups in Hounslow and other voluntary organisations.
• Our community ECLOs can speak Hindi, Urdu and Gujarati.
• Can meet you in your local community.
ECLOs are also able to explain the process of becoming certified as blind or partially sighted and the benefits of being registered.
