The IGA is the charity for people with glaucoma. We raise awareness of glaucoma, encourage people to have regular eye health checks, fund research, and provide detailed advice and support to patients, professionals and carers. Services include:
- Sightline - glaucoma telephone helpline
- website and moderated online patient forum
- a wide range of free 'Information Standard’ accredited literature, covering many aspects of living well with glaucoma
- quarterly membership magazine with the latest news and information about glaucoma
- facilitating glaucoma support groups across the UK where people can hear from eye specialists and share experiences
- funding pioneering research projects
- campaigns, including National Glaucoma Awareness Week
- a volunteer buddy scheme, providing peer support for those facing surgery or new treatments
