Disabled Photographers' Society (DPS)
Membership is open to all people with a registerable disability regardless of photographic experience. The Society's prime function is to promote and encourage disabled people to take up photography as a therapeutic and rewarding pursuit.
They also collect donated equipment, check and repair it if necessary, and redistribute it to members. The Society holds an Annual Exhibition which has a specific class for partially sighted people.
The Society also awards Licentiateship, Associateship and Fellowship for photographic excellence; researches methods of adapting equipment to the requirements of specific disabilities; publishes a quarterly In Focus magazine and factsheet for members and partially sighted photographers.
There is an annual membership fee and the Society is sponsored by Olympus.
