RNIB’s Integrated support system for patients named finalist for the 2025 HSJ Partnership Awards
Work on integrating information, advice and support into primary eye care pathways has been recognised with a prestigious awards nomination. Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) is a finalist in the Best Not for Profit working in partnership with the NHS category at the HSJ Partnership Awards.
Now in their eighth year, the HSJ Partnership Awards, have become the most recognised and respected mark of the strongest relationships between suppliers and the NHS.
Following the thorough judging process, RNIB was included in 180+ organisations, projects and individuals that made the final shortlist amid 280+ entries logged for the 2025 awards programme.
Working in partnership with Primary Eyecare Services and West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership ICS, RNIB co-designed digital referral systems into the third sector so people can access information, advice and support at the point of need. These innovative referral models are replicable, scalable and for the first time mean patients get access to vital non-clinical support from the beginning of their eye care journey.
Rob Cooper, Director of Strategic Engagement at RNIB said: “We’re delighted that we’ve been selected as a finalist for the ‘Best Not for Profit Working in Partnership with the NHS’ category in the HSJ Partnership Awards. It’s great to recognise our work with Primary Eye Care Services and with the West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership ICS to help more people with sight loss access information, advice and support at the beginning of their eye care journey.
“The HSJ awards are hugely respected and like everyone else involved, we are excited to be among the finalists and to be recognised for this work to transform the support patients received at every stage of their eye care journey.”
