RNIB welcomes new Chief Technology Officer

The Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) has announced the appointment of its first Chief Technology Officer. Linda Rogers joined the charity on November 11, 2024.

As Chief Technology Officer, Linda will take the lead in driving tech innovations both internally and externally. Technology is a key enabler for RNIB’s new strategy, which launched in June 2024. Linda will transform the charity’s internal IT and technology whilst also engaging with tech industry leaders to champion inclusivity, ensuring that accessibility is built in from inception and in doing so will equalise the tech landscape for blind and partially sighted people.

Before joining RNIB, her most recent role was as Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Life Healthcare Group (International businesses), where she led the development and implementation of a health digital strategy that leveraged technology to transform healthcare delivery and improve patient outcomes. Before that, Linda held senior tech positions at Virgin Media O2 and Reckitt Benckiser.

Linda Rogers said: "I am motivated to join RNIB because I am passionate about using technology to drive inclusion and accessibility for people with sight loss. RNIB’s mission to empower blind and partially sighted people aligns perfectly with my commitment to make a meaningful impact through innovative solutions. I am excited to bring my experience in digital transformation and strategic leadership to further enhance RNIB’s role as a leader in accessible technology."

Matt Stringer, RNIB CEO said: “Linda joins RNIB at a pivotal time. As the charity is delivering its new strategy, we’re looking to deliver tech solutions that allow us to scale up our services and be more impactful and innovative.

“We’re delighted that Linda has decided to join our executive leadership team, she brings a wealth of experience in transformative tech that will be crucial for RNIB in levelling-up the services we provide to blind and partially sighted people.”
