RNIB response to the Minister for Disabled People role being upgraded in seniority
Response from RNIB following the news about the Minister for Disabled People role being upgraded in seniority, after the role was downgraded in December 2023:
Eleanor Thompson, RNIB’s Director of Campaigns said: “We’re delighted that the dedicated Minister for Disabled People role has been upgraded again in seniority, after it was downgraded in December 2023. Having a Minister for Disabled People will provide a clear focus on the issues affecting disabled people across government departments, especially during the ongoing cost of living crisis, which is disproportionately affecting blind and partially sighted people.
“We look forward to working with Mims Davies to ensure the voices of blind and partially sighted people are being heard and to help break down the barriers that make life harder for disabled people.”
