This opportunity is for organisations with an employee volunteering scheme.
Inclusive Design for Sustainability is a conference pioneered by RNIB Scotland with support from partners in the global technology community and sighted guide volunteers are needed to help blind and partially sighted people participate equitably in the event.
As a sighted guide, you’ll be helping by guiding blind and partially sighted attendees during the conference. You could be assigned to guide one person throughout the day or guiding a variety of people at different points.
You might also help with other practical tasks to help the conference run smoothly, such as registering attendees for the conference, signposting attendees to workshops, stands and information points and assisting with stall set up or taking guide dogs out for exercise.
We are looking for volunteers to take part 10am to 5pm on Monday 17 March and/or 8.30am to 4.30 pm on Tuesday 18 March. Sighted guide training will be delivered to all volunteers.
How often will I be needed?
- 7 Hours per Event
Key requirements
- You must be aged 18 and over. Volunteers will need to be able to be walk around or be on their feet for the majority of the day and be physically able to offer support.
