Description
The Eye Health & Low Vision Services team is looking for an individual to sit as an expert patient for a group of 4 students who will carry out a low vision assessment. This will include measuring the person’s vision on a sight test chart and contrast sensitivity on an adapted sight test chart. They will be asked all the questions that they would normally be asked in a low vision assessment some of these are personal details about their general health, eye health and emotional wellbeing. They will also discuss what low vision aids the person uses and explore other options that would be suitable for them.
This information is recorded anonymously and only used for teaching purposes and for the student to show evidence that they have carried out a low vision assessment. It will give students a wonderful opportunity to talk to a person with low vision in detail about the challenges of sight loss or visual impairment and learn how they overcome those challenges.
