Who can nominate?
We accept nominations from the public, including blind and partially sighted people, friends, family and people who work in the sight loss sector. The nominator and nominee must be over 18 years of age. RNIB employees are not eligible to be nominated but can nominate any other individual. However, Eye Care Liaison Officers (ECLOs) can be nominated except by RNIB employees.
How do I nominate someone?
You can nominate an individual or an organisation by completing our online nomination form which can be found on the RNIB website.
By completing a nomination form you are consenting to our Terms and conditions.
To request an accessible Microsoft Word version of the nomination form please email: [email protected].
Can I make a nomination after the specified closing date?
No. We can't accept any entries for RNIB See Differently Awards 2024 received after 11.59pm on the advertised closing date.
How are nominations shortlisted?
Nominations are first shortlisted by an internal member of RNIB staff to generate a list of three National Finalists for each category. This list is then judged by an independent panel to select the overall winners in each category.
All nominations will be shortlisted based on what nominees have done or achieved in line with the category criteria. You may only nominate an individual once, but you may nominate as many different people as you like across the award categories. Please note that RNIB reserves the right to change the category the nominee is being nominated for, if we feel another category is more appropriate
When will you be in touch?
Once a nomination has been submitted you should receive a thank you message to confirm we’re received your nomination.
We may get in contact with the nominee, or a representative of a nominated team, via email or by phone to clarify details of their nomination. This is to help us with the shortlisting process. Therefore, it is important to let your nominee know they have been put forward for an award!
We will use the additional details and updated nomination to support the entry and to illustrate the nominee’s achievements if they are shortlisted as a Finalist. It will also be the basis of any press releases we send to media or use to otherwise promote the awards.
Any shortlisted nominees we contact will be given clear information about what data we have been given by the nominator including why and how it will be used going forward. All shortlisted nominees will be required to sign an RNIB media consent form to continue with the RNIB See Differently Awards process.
