We’re the Royal National Institute of Blind People in Northern Ireland (RNIB NI) and we’re here for everyone affected by sight loss.

If you or someone in your life has experienced sight loss, are blind or partially sighted, we offer a wide range of services, support and information to help.

Working with our supporters and partners, we’re changing wider society to create a world where sight loss isn’t a barrier to living life to the full. We want to make every day better for anyone affected by sight loss in Northern Ireland from providing practical and emotional support at the point of diagnosis, advice on employment, and campaigning for change, to advice on useful products and technology.

Events and activities in Northern Ireland

We have a monthly programme of ongoing and special events, groups and activities you, a friend or family member would be very welcome to attend. These range from local social groups, to walking and adapted sports and leisure activities such as archery and tennis, and special events such as guided tours around local estates or technology sessions letting you get to grips with using assistive products.

Our Futures

RNIB and Guide Dogs NI are working together on Our Futures project which is designed and developed by and for young people aged eight to 25 with vision impairment.

Employment Services

If you’re blind or partially sighted, our Employment service can provide specialist support and advice to help you find work or to stay in your job if your sight deteriorates.

Workable

We can offer support and advice if you are blind or partially sighted and are finding it difficult to do a job due to deterioration in your sight.
