About us
We offer a range of services and support to people with sight and hearing loss. Although some services are only available to people in Bristol, we aim to serve the South West as a whole, as our centre is a resource open to people throughout the region.

Resource room and UK Online Centre
The resource room based at our Bristol Centre includes a UK Online Centre that offers:
- equipment designed to make life easier, some of which can be purchased
- information leaflets and catalogues
- the chance for people of all ages to use computers and access the web
- an excellent training and demonstration area.

Conference and meeting rooms
We also have conference and meeting rooms available for use at reasonable rates. These rooms are all accessible to people who use wheelchairs.
Training at RNIB South West
RNIB offers professional training and consultancy on sight loss, deafblind and related issues for a wide variety of groups. RNIB's South West centre, an award winning building, is spacious and comfortable which boasts fine training and meeting facilities. Built particularly for people with sight loss, it is completely accessible. The brightly lit rooms lend themselves to excellent rented office space.

The following events take place at our centre in Bristol, unless otherwise stated:
- Older people and sight loss seminar - Tuesday 16 September 2008
- Supporting people with sight and hearing loss course – Thursday 16 October 2008, Dorchester
- Eye clinic liaison workshop/networking day - Tuesday 4 November 2008, Bristol
- Strategies to identify and teach children with impairment of vision due to damage to the brain – Friday 7 November 2008
- Sight loss and additional health conditions seminar - Tuesday 20 January 2009
- Visual conditions in relation to ethnicity: focus on children and families – Wednesday 28 January 2009
Services for trainers, professional careworkers and businesses
The Centre receives visits from architects, business people, health professionals and trainers. The building, designed in 1993, is a prime example of what can be achieved to support people with a disability. Volunteer with us - how you can help
Volunteers are essential to our work; please visit RNIB's volunteering section for more information about volunteering with RNIB. If you'd like to get involved and become a volunteer in the Bristol area, please contact the Volunteer Co-ordinator, telephone 0117 953 7750. In Bristol we need assistance with fundraising, with the activities we run as well as volunteer support positions with our specialist workers who assist people in their homes.

The building opens from 9.00am - 5.00pm for staff and training groups
