Summary: Training courses available from the Web Access Centre.

"Very informative. I came to this course to brush up on my existing accessibility knowledge but ended up learning an awful lot more than I expected! The speakers were extremely interesting to listen to and I will thoroughly recommend it to my colleagues an friends."

To help you make your website more accessible we offer a range of training course both in-house and publicly available. Courses are aimed at designers, developers and content authors as well as website owners, project managers and marketing personnel.

Open training courses

Currently we have four publicly available courses running:

Hidden barriers to web accessibility - a technical course, designed to enable website designers, developers and programmers to identify and cure some common, but less obvious accessibility problems on their web sites.

Web accessibility - Transitioning from WCAG 1.0 to WCAG 2.0 - a practical course to introduce the forthcoming guidelines for web accessibility, the Web Accessibility Content Guidelines 2.0 (WCAG 2.0). It will enable and inform web managers, designers and developers, who have been working with WCAG 1.0 to start using WCAG 2.0.

Note: the above two half day courses run on the same day, and can be booked together at a discounted cost.

Demystifying accessibility - this course is designed to introduce website owners, commissioners, marketing or project managers and designers to the reasons for making websites accessible, including the principles and practices that make this possible.

Accessibility - beyond the basics - this is a technical course designed to enable website designers, developers and programmers, to make informed best practice choices with some of the more advanced techniques of accessible web design by looking at forms, structure, JavaScript and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets).
