Text to speech (T T S)
The built-in text to speech program (T T S) reads out your documents using synthetic speech. It has two voices to choose from: Kate and Paul using the voice engine from Neospeech.
The BookSense is compatible with a wide range of document formats including TXT, RTF, DOC, DOCX, HTML, XML, SML, BRL and BRF files. You can adjust the reading speed, skip through the file by screen, paragraph, sentence or word and also have individual words spelt out letter by letter.

Firmware updates
Occasionally, a new version of the BookSense's internal software (firmware) becomes available. All new BookSense have the latest firmware installed but if you already have one, we recommend you update it with the latest firmware. This will ensure you are getting the most out of your player. The latest firmware is version 3.
To update your BookSense, download firmware for your particular BookSense model. Please note there are two different BookSense models, you must download the firmware that corresponds to your BookSense model. Please read the firmware release notes (TXT, 32KB)(opens new window) and follow the instructions within to update your BookSense DAISY player.
