Overview and objectives

The effective use of colour, lighting and visual contrast has become increasingly important in the way designers can help visually impaired people find their way around. (Source:Dulux).

This course will enable participants to apply visual contrast and lighting to buildings to enhance their accessibility.

Content

Aspects include:

  • Visual awareness - how different eye conditions affect perception
  • The project rainbow research findings - the attributes of colour that contribute to contrast
  • Principles into practice - applying the guidelines
  • Action planning - an opportunity to consider how they use the training in their own work.

In-house course

  • Full day course: Full day in-house course (for example, 9.30am to 4.30pm)
  • Half day course: Half day in-house course (for example, 9.30am to 12.30pm)
  • Delegate numbers: Ideal for around 10 to 16 delegates
  • Fee: £1,100 plus VAT and expenses, depending on location and tailoring of course for a full day. Or £650 plus VAT and expenses, depending on location and tailoring of course for a half-day.
