Braille transcription with Duxbury

Overview and objectives

Does your organisation need to produce information in Braille? RNIB offers training courses at introductory level in the Duxbury Braille Translator.

Suitable for:

  • Anyone needing to produce simply-formatted braille documents, but with no prior knowledge of Duxbury.

Pre-requisites: Familiarity with braille is not a pre-requisite of these introductory level course modules.

Content

Aspects include:

  • Introduction to the Duxbury translation program

  • Preparation of text files to be translated into braille (including guidance on simple braille layouts and using styles).

Benefits:

  • Delegates will have the confidence to import and format simple braille documents independently.

Course detail

  • One day course: Available as a one day in-house course (for example, 9.30am to 4.30pm)
  • Delegates: Ideal for up to a maximum 6 delegates
  • Fee: £800.00 for a one day in-house course, plus reasonable expenses and VAT

We are happy to tailor the course into smaller sessions and to suit the knowledge and skills of delegates.
