Travel advice for people with sight loss

RNIB is urging health professionals to encourage patients and clients with sight loss to use public transport.

This month, the charity launches a a free travel pack to help blind and partially sighted people use trains, tubes and buses. The initiative is part of Travel matters month and is the latest campaign aimed at improving transport services for people with sight loss.

The travel pack contains a guide for safe and independent travel, a customer service guide and a DVD with top tips from blind and partially sighted people about using buses.

It is available in large print, braille and on audio CD. To receive the free pack call 0303 123 9999 or email helpline@rnib.org.uk. Alternatively, you can download the pack from our Travel matters page.
