RNIB works hard to improve the lives of blind and partially sighted children and young people, and to help you, the education professionals, who support them.
And there are many ways that you can help us. From sharing our campaign messages to helping us raise much needed funds, here's how you and your organisation can get involved and support our work.
Share your time
Volunteers work with us to support blind and partially sighted people in a variety of locations across the UK. We have over 100 different volunteering roles available which can be done from home, based at an RNIB Group office or out and about in the community. Find out about opportunities in your local area.
Get involved in fundraising
There are so many fun and educational ways that you and your pupils can get involved, from encouraging your school or organisation to recycle for RNIB, to selling raffle tickets or organising events. We have a whole page dedicated to fundraising ideas for schools, and you can download fundraising information packs for our fancy dress dotty days and our Really good read scheme. Whatever you do, you'll make a real difference to blind and partially sighted people in the UK.
You can also sign up for our fundraising email newsletter to keep up to date on all the latest fundraising news and events.
Help us to improve education policy
RNIB provides a strong national lead within visual impairment education, underpinning improvements in inclusive education through research, policy work, training and support for specialist professional networks.
We regularly respond to government papers and our work helps to influence the development of government policy in special needs education. Visit our education newsletter page to get the latest education policy briefings and responses from RNIB. You can also sign up for our campaigns e-newsletter.
Monitoring cuts in services
For education, RNIB Children and Young People's Team and Campaigns are monitoring the effect of public sector cuts on services for children and young people.
If you are experiencing or are concerned about cuts in our area, contact RNIB Cuts Watch.
