Parent Pathways
Parent Pathways is a free and informal service for parents and carers whose child has recently been diagnosed with vision impairment, or who want to find out more about the different support that’s available.
Parent Pathways is part of our Living Well with Sight Loss series and is designed to give you the space to learn about and discuss some of the important questions that you might have about raising a child who is blind or partially sighted. It's open to parents or carers of children aged from birth to 25 years old.
To book a First Steps course, please visit our Course Calendar or read below for further details.
Join a small group of parents for a series of online sessions with two of our Family Support Officers. You’ll receive information and advice on a range of topics and will have the chance to meet and share experiences in a safe and supportive environment.
Parent Pathways First Steps offers the chance to find out about:
- early support around your child’s diagnosis
- the ‘who’s who’ of key professionals
- certification and registration
- accessing specialist support and much more.
You’ll also be offered the opportunity for a one-to-one discussion with your local RNIB Family Support Officer to discuss your individual situation and any additional support you might need.
