National Braille Week

National Braille Week runs every year from 4 to 11 January. It's a great time to celebrate this amazing system, invented so long ago by Louis Braille.

Braille is a way for blind people to read and write. But that's a massive understatement!

Think how much of what you do relies on being able to read or write. Your job may well depend on it. Reading is a huge source of entertainment. It's also a way to learn, to gain an education. Writing is a really important way to express yourself, and to communicate.
