RNIB Telebefriending Service

Adults with sight loss, ranging from 23 to 104, take part in over 100 telephone social groups to make friends, chat and support each other.

To join a group, please email us at talkandsupport@rnib.org.uk or call us on 0845 330 3723 or 020 7391 2218.

Why take part?

An informal and friendly way to meet new people.

  • All sorts of personalities take part - we match you to people with similar interests.
  • Take part from home at the same time and day each week.
  • Free to join - we call you so no extra costs.
  • Made up of no more than six people and calls last approximately 55 minutes.
  • You can really get to know your group well, as it largely stays the same.
  • Trained volunteers facilitate the group so conversation flows and everyone feels comfortable to join in.
