NICE is an independent organisation responsible for providing national guidance on health and treatments.
As part of our work to prevent avoidable sight loss we submit opinion and evidence to them where we can to influence this. This page has the latest information about our engagement with NICE, and its sister organisation in Scotland, the Scottish Medicines Consortium. Where possible we also participate in Appraisal Committee meetings and nominating patient and clinical experts.
Working with various other organisations such as Diabetes UK and the Macular Disease Society where we can, our submissions urge NICE to make sight saving treatments available. Below are submissions made to NICE for treating various eye conditions:
