Personal Independence Payment campaign

From 2013 Disability Living Allowance will be replaced by Personal Independence Payment (PIP) for people aged 16 to 64 and will continue to be a non-means tested benefit. Visit our PIP web pages to find out how this might affect you.

Latest campaign news

According to the Government's own figures, over 600,000 people will lose entitlement altogether as DLA is replaced by PIP. Still others will qualify for a lower rate than they currently receive.

Thousands of blind and partially sighted people wrote to and visited their MPs to ask that their needs are properly recognised in the final PIP assessment criteria. Thank you to all those who took part as it has had considerable impact. The criteria were published on 13 December 2012 and as a result of this high-profile campaign there have been significant improvements around both the mobility and daily living component.
