Wales
RNIB Cymru works for the 100,000 people in Wales with serious sight loss.
We deliver a wide range of services, providing practical solutions to everyday challenges. We campaign for inclusion of people with sight loss and run pilot projects within our communities. We promote eye health by running public health awareness campaigns and we work in partnership with many organisations across Wales to provide local services.

Wales marches on London for fairer benefits
Message from Sarah Rochira, Director of RNIB Cymru:
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us on 15 October at the DLA lobby in London. More than 1,500 people from across the UK made the journey to let the government know how unfair its refusal to grant the higher level of mobility allowance to blind and partially sighted people is.
More than 150 people from all over Wales joined the lobby demonstrating the huge strength of feeling on this issue. We have had huge support, both in Wales and nationally, from across the political parties on this issue.

You can still get involved! Find out more about the DLA campaign and how you can help - by writing to your MP or to your local paper.
Assembly Members support the lobby
More than two thirds of Welsh MPs have now publicly given us their support through the signing of an Early Day Motion in the UK Parliament, or by writing to the government to show their support. To them, on behalf of the 100,000 blind and partially sighted people in Wales, we say a huge thank you.
National Assembly for Wales AMs Jenny Randerson, Jonathan Morgan, Bethan Jenkins and Sandy Mewies have tabled a Joint Statement of Opinion supporting the lobby. They urge MPs to make the changes to the current benefit so that it is fair to blind people.

Jill's story - Jill lost her sight 12 years ago at the age of 19. “The experience left me feeling isolated. I often felt like my life was pointless." Now, as a presenter on Insight Radio, she uses her experiences to help others. “My prayer is that what we do helps those who are going through sight loss. Even the tiniest piece of information can make a huge difference. If my show can help do that, then my journey has not been in vain.” Jill's full story
