Increasing income for blind and partially sighted people

Mobility allowance campaign

RNIB Scotland has launched a campaign to change the Disability Living Allowance (DLA) regulations so that blind and partially sighted people can claim the higher level of mobility allowance. At present people with sight loss are restricted to the lower level of mobility payment.

Wages and salaries

RNIB Scotland is committed to campaigning to ensure that blind and partially sighted people in employment receive due pay for the work they carry out. We work to help people with sight loss to prepare for the work place or retain their jobs through our Employment Services.

Welfare benefits

We also work with colleagues throughout the UK to campaign for just levels of support for blind and partially sighted people of all ages, and for those who care for them.

Welfare Benefits Hotline

RNIB Scotland has opened a dedicated Benefits Helpline providing blind and partially sighted people in Scotland with information on the benefits and services to which they are entitled. The Benefits Helpline number is 0845 602 4033.

RNIB Scotland Benefits Helpline is sponsored by Standard Life.
