Parent and carer views

Parent story 1

"Sunshine House School is the best thing that has happened to our daughter. She has become a more confident little girl, receptive to new experiences.

It seems that in the eyes of Sunshine House staff every child is 'differently-able' rather than 'disabled', and 'special' rather than simply having 'special needs'.

To have our only child diagnosed with profound learning and physical disabilities was a daunting and isolating experience to us. Since our daughter has been at Sunshine House we feel as if we have been absorbed into a large family, giving us a strong sense of reassurance at a time we needed it most. We consider ourselves privileged to be part of the thriving community at Sunshine House."

Parent story 2

"Sunshine House is a wonderful school. All the staff from the Headteacher to class staff and therapists are amazing and dedicated to getting the best out of the pupils there.

As our son has progressed through the school he has grown more confident and communicative. He is always happy to tell us his 'switch' news and is 'talking' to us more.

It has been great for us as a family to have the support of everyone at Sunshine House and to have the opportunity to be involved with our son's school life."
