Meet Sikkstring

I'm a 21-year-old, visually-impaired, self-confessed music junkie. I love music more than anything else in the world, and thanks to the invention of the iPod, my world is accompanied by music. I play piano, guitar, drums, bass and as of the last few weeks, ukulele. I love comedy, be it a film, or the latest episode of "Family Guy", I hate the Twilight films, and coleslaw is the devil's food.

If you've stuck it through to this second paragraph, you may have guessed by now that I'm a music enthusiast. I'm always listening to something, playing guitar, writing a song. The only time I'm not, is when I'm working as a waiter, which funds my music habit. My current musical venture is customizing and building guitars, and the ultimate dream for me would be to open my own music shop, which would secretly be an excuse to own even more guitars than I currently have.

Other interests of mine may seem quite "edgy", taking into consideration that I am registered as blind. One of my favourite outdoor activities is quad biking. I have even been quad biking through the desert in Egypt, which was an experience I will never, ever forget: stunning views, to the soundtrack of 30 lads on quad bikes. Brilliant! I'm also a keen photographer and help to take care of the 4 horses we have, generally mucking out. Not quite as rock and roll.

I'm a pretty easy going person, and take pride in the fact that I am registered blind. Not that it stops me from doing anything, as you can see from my quad biking.

I'm very grateful for the opportunity to write a blog, and being able to share my experiences within music and other aspects of my life, but like I said, music is my life.
