Writing West Midlands and the Birmingham Book Festival are delighted to be working with RNIB. They held a special event on Thursday 6 September at The Bay Leaf Restaurant, Custard Factory Birmingham. Reading In The Dark was a creative preview of the forthcoming Birmingham Book Festival and an opportunity to celebrate and raise awareness of RNIB's Read for RNIB campaign.

The audience was made up of creative writing people from all over the West Midlands. The famous author Anne Zouroudi read from her latest book 'The Bull of Mithros' while the audience sat in the dark to experience for a short while the impact sight loss has on accessing the written word.

Sara Beadle, Programme Director of Writing West Midlands said "We look forward to growing this relationship in 2013 and beyond."
