Supporting RNIB through corporate partnerships

Santander, one of the world's largest banks has a specialist foundation (the Santander Foundation) which has supported RNIB Group since 2008.

The Santander Foundation provides grants to fund local, regional and national charities for their work within the UK. The aim of the foundation is to be committed to supporting charities to help them make a difference for disadvantaged people in the UK.

The Santander Foundation have donated an amazing £57,500 to our organisation since 2008.

The Santander Foundation has supported Action for Blind People (part of RNIB Group) by providing funding for the following areas:

  • Equipment for an ICT training suite at Action for Blind People's Camden office.
  • Equipment for an ICT training suite at Action for Blind People's Leeds office.
  • Eight Assistive Technology Open days across London and the South East.

The Santander Foundation has also provided funding to RNIB for an 'Ambassador Scheme' pilot project. Eight specially trained 'Ambassador' adult role models with sight loss mentored 36 blind and partially sighted students aged 14-19 in South Wales in 2011/12.
